Tobacco Regulatory Research Collections
To expand the breadth
and depth of Tobacco Regulatory Research (TRR) measures in the PhenX Toolkit, The Food and Drug Administration's Center for Tobacco
Products (CTP) and the National Institutes of Health Tobacco Regulatory Science Program (TRSP) funded the development of one
"Core" Collection of TRR measures and five "Specialty" Collections. The Collections contain measures appropriate for all
TRR and related research studies.
The TRR Collections represent a collaborative effort by the extramural scientific community along with staff members at FDA, TRSP, National Human
Genome Research Institute, National Cancer Institute, and RTI International. Further details on the TRR project can be found
here.
To provide guidance throughout the TRR project, a Tobacco Regulatory Research Panel (TRRP) of nine academic and federal government scientists was assembled. The TRRP identified and defined the scope of five Specialty Areas and helped identify members with relevant expertise for the Working Groups (WGs). The WGs are:
- WG 1: Host: Social-Cognitive
- WG 2: Host: Biobehavioral
- WG 3: Agent
- WG 4: Vector
- WG 5: Environment
Each WG recommended up to 12 measures. These measures are presented in the Toolkit as Specialty Collections.
